Fran stood up and patted her hands together, shaking off the dirt that was clinging to them. She watched her mother shower her precious plants with water as she wiped a few beads of sweat from her brow. After the fiasco with Chaz, she and Nathan had been giving their relationship a try-so far, so good. Leslie had invited them along with Elena and her family and Nathan’s parents for a cookout.
“I’m glad everything turned out okay and you’re not hurt. Thank God Nathan showed up when he did,” Leslie said, looking at the small garden with satisfaction.
“Yeah, I’m lucky to have him, he really cares about me,” Fran replied, silently cursing herself for taking so long to recognize it.
The back door opened, the man she was so grateful for poked his head out and called to them, “Are you two gonna pull weeds all day or what? Lunch is ready when you are.”
“Okay, we’re coming, keep your shirt on.” Fran said, giving him a sly grin. She never ceased to amaze at how much she wanted him to do exactly the opposite, anytime he wanted to go shirtless was just fine by her.
He returned the smile and went back inside, on cloud nine that the awkward start to their romantic relationship was beginning to vanish, they had seemed to make the transition from “just friends” to a lot more easier than either one had thought.
“So, you’re not mad at me for joining the Academy?”
Leslie put down the watering can, “Oh honey, of course not. You know, life isn’t as simple as a garden-you plant it, nurture it, it grows. Life is complicated…full of hard decisions and you have to make your own choices and live your own way.
“You do what you were born to do, you’re lucky you figured that out now, most people live their whole life not knowing what they were meant to do. Your father would be proud of you no matter what, you have to know that. No more guilt Fran, he knows you made the right decision, he’d be proud of the woman you have become.”
Fran smiled as tears flooded her eyes, she grabbed her mother and hugged her as hard as she could, “Thanks Mom, I love you.”

Jean Marie- Ha ha! Yeah I could have. I am planning on doing a photoshoot later with all these characters, through the years with them as kids and now you've given me the idea to show the future too, I will def. include that now!

i was gone for one day and suddenly Dark Shadows is over. I was all like, "when did that happen??"
Anyways, the suspense and the action were great, and Nate's confession of love is so sweet! The garden shots in this chapter are beautiful.

I agree, Chaz definitely deserves worse. Being caught in the act though, he won't get off easy, he's in for a long haul in a cold prison with lots of inmates!

I will keep writing, hopefully after the simfic50 stuff is over I can concentrate on some I want to try and publish but I think I will still like doing these sims stories every now and then, I love putting the visual with the writing, it adds so much fun to it.
